Jonathan Tammuz
Born in Israel, raised in the UK, and now living in Vancouver, Leo-winning and Genie-nominated director Jonathan Tammuz was nominated for an Oscar for The Childeater, his first project after his graduation from the UK's National Film & Television School. He has directed and produced a number of features for Telefilm Canada, the Canada Council for the Arts, and Channel 4 in the UK, as well as filmed versions of Macbeth and The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant for television.
Jonathan is currently at work on a romantic thriller, Bloodlines, and on Misjudgement Day, a dark political comedy.
“Black comedy is my favourite genre ... the concept that really attracted me in the beginning was nothing more than two half-brothers, who've not seen each other since early childhood, meeting twenty years later to go to their father's funeral in the Canadian outback."
